Restoration case study
2000 BMW M5 (E39)
Corrosion dealt with throughout, the exhaust sorted and a mechanical refresh: the original super-saloon kept as BMW built it, on its Style 65 M wheels, with the facelift headlights and the factory quad-outlet exhaust.

The work
Exhaust and Rear Corrosion
The rear bumper came off to sort the exhaust out properly and to get at the corrosion behind it, which was cut back and repaired rather than covered over. The seam sealer under the bumper was re-applied before everything went back to the original gaps.
Corrosion Treated Throughout
The other corrosion points around the car were dealt with the same way: the affected metal cut out, new sections let in and the repairs protected, so the shell is sound rather than tidy.
Mechanical Refresh
New rear discs and pads, with the suspension, brake lines and arch liners checked over while the hubs were bare, as part of a mechanical refresh across the car. An M5 is judged by how it stops as much as how it goes.
Kept as BMW Built It
Style 65 M wheels, the facelift headlights and the factory quad-outlet exhaust all retained. No modern upgrades bolted on: the S62 V8 saloon left as the reference it has become.
